@Facebook blocked me, again…

After a week of not being able to share erotica ebook promos to Facebook Groups that are set up for that very purpose, I got access back today, and did twelve post shares before Facebook blocked me again, this time for two weeks.  Four books to two groups each, one to three and one to just one.  These are all closed promo groups set up on Facebook for the express purpose of promoting and discussing erotica, so what gives?

Maybe, if Facebook had put more programming effort into detecting and blocking Russians buying political ads in the U.S., instead of harassing self-published authors of erotica…

Blocked by Facebook

I was notified by Facebook today that my ability to join and post to groups has been suspended for a week.  Being able to share promo items about my ebooks to groups that are set up for that purpose is how I reach the most members.  Otherwise, I have 20 members who follow the page directly.  For those users, I’m putting my posts on hold until the suspension is over, whether that is a week or sooner if Facebook responds to my appeal.

Affiliate Programs – Worth it?

I’ve been in Smashwords’ Affiliate program since March, not one Affiliate sale.  Six weeks on Amazon’s program and I finally had my first sale of a book that I’ve been promoting.  Is the effort of promoting other author’s books worth it, in the long run?

Waiting on feedback…

It’s always a bit nerve-wracking, waiting for one website or another to merge your story into their listings.  Smashwords is generally fastest, with your ebook available for sale on its site as quickly as you can get it uploaded, but it can take days before your ebook shows up on other sites it feeds.  Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing is probably next fastest, with ebooks getting merged in a day or two.  By comparison, a site like Literotica can take nearly a week, and if you’re serializing a longer work, the waiting really starts adding up.

Right now, I’ve got one short story waiting on Amazon, and  the final chapter of another story waiting on Literotica, and it’s just like, “Aaaaarrgh!” when I keep checking status.
