#MyReads: Erotic Urban Legends: Taboo, by Alexa Nichols

Alexa has been on my list of want-to-read authors for quite a while and I’ve finally gotten around to purchasing one of her books.

Update: My review….

I love the writing style, it’s just that this was perhaps the wrong book to be my first “Alexaverse” read, despite the author’s note that I should not need to have read any of the other books to understand this one (I’ll also note that if you’re going to have a “preferred reading order” list for a connected universe, the best place for it is at the beginning of the book, not the end).

As for this story specifically, it left me feeling sad and uncertain how much of it was real, versus illusion being imposed on the main character. Perhaps I would have more certainty if I had read what came before it or that question would be answered by later books.

Launching a “7th Writer-versary Sale!”

My very first erotica story (“A Dream for Papa”) was posted to Literotica on March 13, 2016. Ever since, I’ve counted that as the start of my writing “career”, even though I didn’t launch the “M.R. Leenysman” pseudonym until later that year (based on my Literotica login, which is leenysman, standing for “Leeny’s Man”).

So, this March 13th marks my 7th anniversary of doing this — my writer-versary, if you will. So, how am I going to observe it? By having a 50% OFF sale at my store here at Leeny’s Press for the whole week — March 13-19!!

Unlike sales at Smashwords which I’ve promoted in the past, this even includes my $0.99 books, marked down to just $0.49!! (Smashwords maintains a minimum of $0.99, even during sales, and marking books down to $0 doesn’t benefit me much)

However, so that credit card processing fees don’t eat up a bunch of small transactions, I am establishing a minimum total purchase amount of $1.45 (should let you buy THREE $0.49 books, if you choose that combo). I’m likely to keep that minimum in place after the sale.

Anyway, if you’ve been on the fence about trying one of my books, this would be the time to buy, don’t you think?

Summer of Secrets, Part 2

Summer of Secrets, Part 2 Caption

Finished up the second half of this story, within the larger “Taboo in a College Town” series, just in time for the annual Smashwords sale.

Can Danny and Cassie get married, without an explosion of family secrets?

Yeah, right.

#MyReads: WWW: Wake, by Robert J Sawyer

WWW; Wake Cover

I do still read books which are not erotica, and this one is a doozy of a science fiction novel. It’s actually been sitting in the TBR pile in my office for quite some time, so it’s about a dozen years old now, so some of the tech in it might seem a bit dated, but it’s an astonishing accomplishment, well deserving of a Hugo nomination for best novel. It’s the first in a trilogy.

Summer of Secrets, Part I

Summer of Secrets Part I Caption

Okay, a little bit different this time out. I have been shooting for lengths around 12K-15K for this series, but “Summer of Secrets” is weighing in more about 25K. So, I decided to split it into two parts and this is the first one.

I also made the decision to make this an exclusive of this site for the first week that it’s out. It will be available as a pre-order on Smashwords shortly, but won’t go “live” there for this first week.

How much crazier can Danny & Cassie’s summer get, when Samantha & Sarah walk into the coffee shop to meet up with them?
