#MyReads: Erotic Urban Legends: Taboo, by Alexa Nichols

Alexa has been on my list of want-to-read authors for quite a while and I’ve finally gotten around to purchasing one of her books.

Update: My review….

I love the writing style, it’s just that this was perhaps the wrong book to be my first “Alexaverse” read, despite the author’s note that I should not need to have read any of the other books to understand this one (I’ll also note that if you’re going to have a “preferred reading order” list for a connected universe, the best place for it is at the beginning of the book, not the end).

As for this story specifically, it left me feeling sad and uncertain how much of it was real, versus illusion being imposed on the main character. Perhaps I would have more certainty if I had read what came before it or that question would be answered by later books.

  • Volume II: After the Ménage is Over ~ Is it true what they say? Two is a couple, but three’s a crowd…
  • Volume III: Getting Bent ~ Max is upset. But finding his best friend, Foster, in bed with his girlfriend, Maya, isn’t the problem…

Review: Hot read, even the MM parts, which aren’t my usual interest.

#MyReads: Planet Of Sex, by Veronica Sloan

“Rachel Brighton isn’t your average civil servant. She’s a sexual ambassador for the human race. It’s not a bad job, if you don’t mind prudes calling you a “star slut.” The year is 2030 and the aliens have landed, but they don’t want to rule the planet. They want to woo it. An insidious plague has rendered human women the last fertile females in the galaxy, and transformed Earth into its number one mating destination. After rounding up the male population, the aliens make a deal with the new female-led government: Teach us how to make love to human women and we’ll return your men.

Rachel used to think nothing on Earth could satisfy her weird desires. But Earth, and her libido, are no longer alone in the universe. To save the human race, to save the aliens, she’ll embark on a journey of erotic discovery. This tale of interstellar sex is 20,000 words and for readers 18 and up.”
