July/August 2022 Blog Status

Spinning Globe

Yes, I forgot to do this in July, so I’ll report on both months in this post:

July: An increase in hits compared to June, to the best level since January 2021. This likely correlates to the sales at both Smashwords and on this site’s ebook store as well.

August: Slumped back, to the lowest level since February and below August 2021 levels. But I did have some significant sales through the ebook store in August (more than from Smashwords and Amazon combined), which is more important. We’ll see how September does.

June 2022 Blog Status

June’s hit numbers are lower than May’s, but higher than April’s and the second highest since January 2021. But, it’s also true that the last week of May and the first week of June are responsible for a lot of both month’s numbers. The remaining weeks of June are more typical of traffic to the site. So, we’ll have to see how July does, given that it’s SALE time at both Smashwords and my own site’s new store.

May 2022 Blog Status

MRLogi

Okay, between restoring the site to the leenyspress.com domain and launching my own ebook store, May saw a big jump in blog hits compared to April (combining stats from both versions of the site). It was better than any month since August 2020, in fact. Plus a new daily high as well.

Each product added to the store counts as its own page, though, which means a visitor can hit more pages per visit, so that might also account for much of it. We’ll see what June’s numbers are like.

Hopefully, the store sells a book (or more) by then…

September 2020 Blog Status

I know I need to do these more regularly or just stop them altogether, but here’s another update.

After seeing several consecutive months of growth, September saw a 30% drop in views compared to August, back to the level of June. My withdrawal from Sharesome towards the end of the month is only about 20% of that, with a much bigger drop from Twitter and a drop from Facebook, too. Looking at the stats on a weekly basis, I see that traffic actually peaked at the beginning of August and began declining after that. A rebound was beginning in the 3rd week of September, before I withdrew my posts from Sharesome, so hopefully growth from other sources in October will counteract what I gave up from Sharesome. And maybe the new release of “Into Another World” will start getting some traction?
