Yeah, I know I’m kinda late in reporting this. Life’s been a bit chaotic lately.
The good news is that blog traffic rose again, to the second-highest level in the last 12 months, exceeded only by July 2022. No new releases during the month, as I’m still working on Book 8 of the current series, currently titled “Homecummings.” Trying to figure out whether this is the ending of the series or not, etc. Hopefully I get it straightened out soon.

January 2023 Blog Status
Overdue, of course. January’s hits rose over December’s, but not back to October’s level. I need to get my work-in-progress finished so I can publish it.
Let’s see if Musk broke WordPress’ ability to post to Twitter….
December 2022 Blog Status
Blog hits for December were higher than November, but not higher than October’s. 2022’s total hits were also slightly lower than 2021’s. Let’s see if 2023 continues that trend…
November 2022 Blog Status
Hits to the site dropped in November, compared to both October and September. That is all.
Sales Prep in Newsletter #43…
October 2022 Blog Status
Good news: Hits to the site grew above September’s and are also higher than October 2021.
Bad news, though: Sales on Amazon and on my own store here have both produced goose eggs for sales this month (unless something happens in the next few hours) and Smashwords sales are down from previous months.
Adding a Mastodon account…
Just in case Twitter goes to hell, I’m investigating some other social media accounts.
First up, a distributed model called Mastodon.
September 2022 Blog Status
Hits to the site were up about 10% compared to August, but still below the numbers for June and July. Just meh.
July/August 2022 Blog Status
Yes, I forgot to do this in July, so I’ll report on both months in this post:
July: An increase in hits compared to June, to the best level since January 2021. This likely correlates to the sales at both Smashwords and on this site’s ebook store as well.
August: Slumped back, to the lowest level since February and below August 2021 levels. But I did have some significant sales through the ebook store in August (more than from Smashwords and Amazon combined), which is more important. We’ll see how September does.
June 2022 Blog Status
June’s hit numbers are lower than May’s, but higher than April’s and the second highest since January 2021. But, it’s also true that the last week of May and the first week of June are responsible for a lot of both month’s numbers. The remaining weeks of June are more typical of traffic to the site. So, we’ll have to see how July does, given that it’s SALE time at both Smashwords and my own site’s new store.
